DESCRIPTION

In this three-day experience, you will be immersed in methods for 21st century teaching. Learn how to:

  • design a project where student teams solve a problem for an actual person or organization in your local community
  • teach so students develop critical skills like creative problem solving, critical thinking, collaboration, communications. research and citizenship
  • teach so that students gain deep knowledge as they learn how to learn rigorous academic material

You will receive a robust online teaching toolkit with methods, lesson plans and project designs for you to tailor to your unique classroom environment.

And you will leave having experienced first-hand what it feels like to be taught this way, with guidance to integrate these methods into your daily teaching practice.

Note that is strongly encouraged that you attend as a school team, with administrator and teaching team (preferably a team of two or more from your school with whom you can co-design and/or co-teach).

$1,500 per person*

Travel:
The Honolulu Airport (HNL) is about 15 minutes from the workshop location.
There are shuttle services and car sharing options (Lyft, Uber, etc.) available to and from the airport.
